The Problem

In Kenya and other Africa nations, close to 40% of the water supply systems are dysfunctional at any given time. Less than 16% of kenya’s rural population has access to a piped water system.
Poor governance, weak management structures, low absorption of emerging technologies and poor business orientation contribute highly to the low functionality of the water supply systems.

This has resulted to significant amounts of resources going into waste, county governments failing to meet water service standards and rural populations left to suffer in long treks to fetch water, water borne ailments and missed livelihood opportunities.

The Solution

The failure of the current service delivery approaches motivated us to challenge the rural water management landscape through a market-based approach in which we have combined the strengths of entrepreneurship, technology, and Private sector engagement.
